Stalker was at first amused , then seriously alarmed by a report on the health benefits of the red mushroom , Ganoderma Lucidum, which was carried online by an Indian newspaper, Kerala online.com.
The report was extolling the virtues of the red mushroom, as many have done before. The alarm bells started to ring when the photograph accompanying the piece appeared on the page.
The red mushroom used to illustrate the piece was none other than a deadly Fly Agaric .
The lovely red top no doubt seduced the photo editor that it was the red mushroom in question.
Anyone reading the piece and subsequently going out to pick a similar mushroom would certainly come a cropper.
