The best photograph of the year in mushrooming terms that Stalker spotted had to be one from the Second Chinese Mushroom Days report in Mushroom Business issue 32.
On page 6 the photograph of the wall of oyster mushrooms at the Chinese trade exhibition was simply stunning and bizarre.
It looked more like a work of art in a gallery somewhere than a trade exhibit.
Depending on how one engaged with the photo, it looked spooky , or simply strange or slightly disgusting, or marvellously surreal.
Stalker would have loved to see the wall in the flesh so to speak. The question of what they taste like also loomed large.
