On Friday, 3 October 2008 Cappoquin Chickens was sold to British-based company Derby Poultry Processors.
After last month’s note on the demise of the company, it seems that a last minute deal kept the operation going. Workers are looking at a decrease of nearly 20per cent in pay in order to keep their jobs.
The way business news is moving these past few months it may well be that the landscape has changed again before this note hit’s the presses.
But it looks like Cappoquin has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of liquidation. Let’s hope it remains thus.
