A Minnesota man has been tapped to serve on the USDA's Mushroom Council.
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ed Shafer appointed C. Gregory Sagan, of Plymouth, to serve three terms on the council starting in January.
Sagan was appointed along with two others to administer a national promotion, research and consumer information program for the fresh mushroom industry.
The council is made up of fresh market producers or importers who average more than 500,000 pounds of mushrooms annually.
