As ever it is incumbent on the grower to keep up with all the latest theories and research outcomes in order to maximise their cropping potentials. Fly control is one area that growers need to be thinking of already, early in the year. It is the main way to control fungal pathogens except for the use of the limited range of chemicals available for control. Based on detailed research it is known that fly control measures must be present in all houses at anticipated moments of outbreaks. This stops flies moving around from house to house. Fly treatment is now deemed necessary from as early on in the year as March. It seems it never gets any easier!
