A former mushroom grower is currently involved in raising funds for the Jack and Jill Foundation in Ireland.
The Jack and Jill Children's Foundation provides home respite for children up to four years of age who suffer from severe developmental delay and associated problems. The Foundation provides direct funding to parents enabling them to purchase care.
The Foundation provides early intervention home respite to families with children up to the age of 4, with severe neuro-developmental delay and palliative conditions requiring extensive medical and nursing care at home.
Jack and Jill try to help support families cope with the situation they find themselves in with their new baby or older child, and to promote the best quality of life for all concerned.
Former mushroom man Mattie Quigley from Newbliss in Co Monaghan has already raised over Euro70K for the charity - a quite phenomenal achievement.
With a couple of months more fundraising to go, Mattie would be happy to hear from anyone wishing to chip in to the fundraising.
