Stalker was intrigued to get an email in the inbox from Mushroom Business - the Dutch based international magazine for growers that we all know and love.
What could this be about?
Lo and behold it was e-newsletter nr. 1 - the very first email news shot of the freshly launched mushroom business.com version 2.0.
Very snazzy it was too - with some news, some views, and a call for recipients to get involved.
“We need you! You are looking at our first free, English, international Mushroom Business e-newsletter, distributed to some 3000 addresses worldwide! It will keep you up to date with developments in the international mushroom industry, alongside the journals we publish. Maybe you haven't heard from us before. If so, please check out our website for more information. You may have registered or maybe you used to receive the Dutch e-newsletter. In any case, I hope you enjoy our newsletter and website, which can't be made without your help. If you have news on your company or your national industry, or you have ideas and feedback on our publications, please feel free to contact us."
Does that sound like any other mushroom industry organ that we know?
There was also a section on Trichoderma harzianum - a growing problem for many mushroom farms the world over. With a click through option to the full cultivation tips database - this is surely something that growers will find invaluable.
Truly though, it's great to see that the Biz has revamped its online presence and that it's actively delivering news shots to one’s inbox. It's a fabulous way to keep readers and industry folk involved, engaged and up to date.
Here's hoping that the revamp and re-launch work extremely well and that the new interactivity call produces even more sparkling (or should that be gritty) coverage of the mushroom industry in the months and years to come.
