Stalker has noticed that there have been quite a few stories of fires at mushroom farms from around the globe of late.
The fire at Prairie Mushrooms in Canada in March was a big one - as the report put it "A mushroom-growing operation the size of four football fields lies in ruins". Up to USD10 million of damage was caused to the operation.
There was another big fire at Brant Mushroom Farms of Stoney Creek in Ontario this month - causing at least USD350,000 worth of damages and a big conflagration too at a unit in San Juan Bautista California.
There's a bit of a trend here - let's hope that all farms on this side of the pond are doing their utmost to protect against such eventualities!
