There has been quite a lot of change on the political scenes both North and South, and further afield, in the past month or so. It's interesting to see that the ex Minister for Agriculture has now taken the number two spot in the cabinet formed by Brian Cowen.
It has been evident for quite a while that Mary Coughlan is a bit of a star performer. It still surprised a lot of political pundits that she leapt into the role of Tanaisté. Good luck to her in her new position also as Minister for Trade, Enterprise and Employment
Vacating the Ag portfolio freed up the ministerial position to be taken by Tony Killeen. No doubt the new minister will be under intense scrutiny from the get go at the Dept of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food: Fisheries and forestry. Good luck to him in his new role.
