Stalker noted the Tesco Value Mushrooms advert running again this year. The tag line goes along the lines of - "they may not look great, but they taste fabulous".
The camera shots of knobbly produce and one mushroom that looks like a pair of shapely buttocks are really well done.
It's a canny advert; it grabs the viewers attention and promotes the produce, while also making Tesco look good. Tesco can be seen as not wasting any of the produce and also giving their customers the best deals in the value range of produce.
Stalker notes though that one now needs to be careful what one writes about Tesco.
The company's Far East arm is whacking out libel writs against critics in Thailand who have questioned the growth of the supermarket chain.
Tesco is also suing the Guardian newspaper in the UK for what it claims is libel and malicious falsehood.
So Stalker is remaining tight-lipped about any opinions on Tesco at the moment.
Funny how the company though craves good publicity - great clinking fists of libel writs is probably not the best way to pursue good PR.
