No don't get too excited, not a mushroom composting, but a waste composting. One of the most modern waste composting plants in Europe has started production in Northern Ireland.
The multi-million project has a capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum of hazardous waste, and is completely environmentally friendly and fitted with bio-filters etc. The project was supplied by A.E.M. through their local agent: AST. Totten Ltd.
The plant is called Greenacre Composting located near Glenavy, close to the shores of Lough Neagh, in Co.Antrim.
Stalker has a suspicion that it is not far away from the proposed 30 megawatt power plant that was reported on in the January edition.
