Stalker noticed a small item in the Irish Times in the middle of this month concerning fresh produce pricing. The price check article ran thus:
"Hats off to the people in Aldi who have slashed the price of their fresh fruit and vegetables for the rest of January. Mushrooms, broccoli, iceberg lettuce, carrots, cucumbers and salad potatoes which have a normal price of Euro1.19 are all selling for a flat rate of 49 cent for the rest of the month."
'Tis surely great news for the consumers to be getting cut-rate fresh produce.
Stalker though is minded to think of the growers and the prices they're receiving from the German multiple for their produce - let's hope that they haven't been slashed also.
