Stalker was interested to read about the new trend in shopping with the Fresh supermarket chain in Dublin.
It claims to cater for the cash-rich time-poor professionals with sophisticated tastes!
No matter the sophistication of the tastes, it can only be good for the fresh produce sector when stores concentrate on delivering the freshest produce to their customers.
"Fresh - The good food market" is a concept inspired by farmers markets, upmarket delicatessens and US organic and natural food purveyors like Whole Food Market, which opened a store in London in June to huge fanfare.
The stores each have one third of their floor space dedicated to fresh produce - recreating a distinctive market ambiance.
Long may the trend continue. The Dublin outfit hope to expand to 20 stores by 2010. Fresh could be the future of urban shopping.
