With fuel prices rising and compost firms hauling straw from across the water, there's every reason to think that things will be super-tight until the new straw harvest in late summer.
Prices though are said to be good by growers at the moment.
The rise in compost prices has been offset by the better prices it seems - pity though that the growers haven't been getting the better prices for a longer time.
It's kind of like two steps back and two steps forward - no advance in the end.
