The new Tesco advert currently showing on Irish telly is quite the hoot.
The screen fills with a wee fresh mushroom. The price is shown too and then it changes.
The wee mushroom wobbles.
The price keeps getting slashed. The voiceover says "Our mushrooms are cheap! We halved the price and we sold even more!" The wee mushroom wobbles even more.
"We halved the price again and sold even more" The voiceover says this a few times. Eventually, at the end, the wee mushroom keels over.
The line they left out: "and we halved the price again and the mushroom industry collapsed.!"
What a clever advert. You can just see the concept team coming up with the storyboard. Pitching the plug you can hear the admen saying -And then the little mushroom collapses – or is it the mushroom industry?
