A report on the RTE 9 o'clock news bulletin on Jan 31st 2007 dealt with the availability of dangerous drugs including Fly Agaric mushrooms, on the Irish market.
Magic mushrooms were banned in Ireland on January 31st 2006 after some tragic incidents involving the pyschedelic fungi.
The Fly Agaric (pictured) mushroom was used in ancient times by wrestlers in Greece in the original Olympic Games. The mushroom induced hallucinations and rage and was a 'pyscher upper' of the combatants - not exactly a recreational drug!
