The dangers of electrically powered equipment have never been more starkly illustrated.
In August in Watsonville USA a similar sounding accident happened - Erik Ramos-Zapeda was using a metal-handled pitchfork to scoop manure from the ground onto a conveyor belt. Stephen Paton was inspecting an electrical conveyor belt when the fatal accident happened.
One tragic death on a mushroom farm is one too many. Health and safety standards on mushroom farms must be of the highest standard if these types of accident are to be avoided.
