Stalker is happy to see that Heveco has managed to bounce back from a "suspension of payments" period that lasted two months. Former production manager Geert Verdellen has become the new owner of the company.
In an interview with Mushroom Business in the November issue Mr Verdellen asserted that his major task at the moment "is winning back the confidence of employees and customers."
Several factors lead to the problems at the company - one of which was the loss of the Sainsbury UK order to its competitors. Heveco is or was a big operation - with 650 employees in the Netherlands and 355 employees in the English branch. The English branch has been sold on to Irish employment agency Lanos according to the Mushroom Business report.
Stalker hopes that the bounce back by Heveco is not of the dead cat bounce variety.
It looks hopeful that the company will get back to successful ways, with Asda confirming it will continue to buy mushrooms from the company.
