That time of the year again folks - when the temperatures drop and the tug of hibernation pulls on the mammalian forebrain.
The rodent classes are seeking out somewhere warm to be in the winter months. Any lair will do.
And with the mice come the diseases that they carry – especially aimed at mushroom crops it would seem. The advice is – get a good system in place, to keep 'em out and to trap them if they get in.
Stalker has heard of one easily arranged apparatus that can be used on farm – hopefully we’ll have a photograph of the fiendishly simple contraption in next month's issue.
The basic idea was spotted at a ploughing event some years ago – and it involves a bucket some water, a stick, some wire and some cardboard. Apparently it’s very effective.
You could round the mice up and send them to China for the Olympics. The Chinese will use them to prevent athletes from getting food poisoning apparently.
On the other hand one could train up a division of cats….
