November saw the truffle buying season reach a new zenith in the money stakes. A Hong Kong tycoon reportedly paid Euro 125,000 for a 3.3lb Italian white truffle. That is one very expensive mushroom.
It had better taste good at that price. Stalker wonder's does this make it the most expensive natural product by weight?
Printers ink wouldn't have a look in!
Stalker has also read of an adopt-a-truffle scheme.
One can invest in a scheme in South-west France and eat or sell on your own truffles.
Anyone interested can check it out at www.truffle-tree.com. It's bound to be cheaper than buying an Italian white.
