The 18th North American Mushroom conference took place in Ottawa Canada on July 10th to 13th.
There were exhibitors from all over the USA, Canada and some European visitors from Holland. J.F.McKenna Ltd. from Armagh had a stand there showing the Irish Tunnel system and their complete range of goods for the mushroom grower.
Stalker heard that Brendan McKenna and Shay Clarke were spotted taking in a sight seeing trip of Ottawa city, including the magnificent Rideau Canal, Parliament Hill and the famous Byward Market area.
The business sessions at the conference represented the latest trends in technical and practical aspects of mushroom culture, packaging and marketing.
Each session was geared towards enhancing grower profitability, through compost technology, marketing, food safety, quality and security on the farm and in the marketplace.
