Stalker caught wind of a potential promotional campaign targeting the GB market, potenitally emanating from august offices in the South. Apparently some contact has been made with some industry companies, to eke out some funds to help fund the potential campaign.
Stalker 's information would indicate that some of those approached were not entirely in favour of funding a campaign that would seem to benefit the big supermarkets and some bigger mushroom industry companies, more than it would the Irish mushroom grower. What with Polish mushrooms masquerading as the Irish variety in some cases, the local companies have every right to be wary about promotional negative effect.
If a promotion does happen, hopefully it will benefit the humble mushroom grower; but not by collecting funds from already squeezed sources - that may not be the way to achieve success.
Stalker 's advice – look to the bigger entities, they have bigger pockets.
