Stalker received the following query by email from a native of Dublin now living in Tyrone. The question posed does indeed intrigue – does anyone out there have an answer?
"My wife was talking about her memories when she was growing up and remembered picking wild mushrooms in the back field and frying them."
"She said she remembers waking to see the back field white with mushrooms, they are all gone now. It just doesn't happen anymore. Why would that be and has there been a big change in the environment, or have all the good mushrooms trekked off down the road because they heard they could live in houses, rather than out in the cold?"
