Word is there has been a new development in robotic picking for the mushroom industry.
Stalker has yet to see full details, but the new robot has apparently been developed at Warwick University and will soon be ready for picking in the field, so to speak.
This new machine will be a rival for the local picking machine made by Axis Systems in Co. Down.
No doubt the Axis team will be eager to see how the new machine operates, as will we all.
Stalker thinks any concerns about the "rise of the machines" a la Terminator movies is probably a bit OTT.
However the technology displayed in these robotic advances is quite startling and highly innovative.
