A new way of picking a house has been pointed out by one of the Dutch experts, over recently imparting some know how. The new way is apparently beneficial to the grower, the picker and even the composter! It involves the picker going over the house maybe three times in the one day – going for a certain sized mushroom. The first go over the house may not produce the best pick rate, but it seems that over the subsequent pickings the rate improves and the picker ends up having picked a better volume over the same period of time as the usual way. The grower benefits by getting the better quality picked, and better volumes too. And the composter benefits if the produce is maximised – less complaints you see. Pickers though it seems have yet to be convinced. They are very wary – believing that they are doing more for less. Stalker is pleased to say that finer minds are being turned to the subject and it is hoped that a new study will help prove the efficiency and benefits to all, of the new way.
