The violent storms that battered the country in early January brought misery and even death to the land.
The fierce winds claimed several lives in Scotland and Ireland, with gust of over 100mph reported almost everywhere in the northern parts.
Some growers had houses simply blown away in the gales. One grower Stalker heard of in the border regions managed to secure some of his houses with ropes and cement blocks, tying down the tunnels to tractors and fencing – doing anything to keep the mushroom house on the ground!
It's conjures Wizard of OZ like images of houses flying off into the air. This however was no Technicolor dream!
