The sporadic problem of "chocolate mushrooms" is rearing its head again among those using Phase 3 compost. Although sporadic in nature and not at all a major problem, growers are wondering whether to stick with Phase 3 or change. It appears that the reason for the off-white produce is still eluding the compost makers – they must hope that some definitive cause behind the "chocolates" will be found soon.
