The inexorable shutting down of mushroom units throughout the country continues unabated.
Smaller growers have really had it too hard and are leaving the industry to the bigger entities. There's no point fighting a losing battle. It is though a certainty that those who are left are getting it tighter and tighter.
The balance of power appears skewed by supermarket dominance in price setting. Marketers too have been finding it tough no doubt, but maybe not quite as bad as the composters and growers.
