Oliver McCann had a successful day out at the races in Ayr recently. The horse he was backing was Direct Access, owned by a syndicate in which Oliver is a partner. Direct access won the feature event, which was over a three-mile course, in its first win for the syndicate, who call themselves the Connections.
The horse is now part of the Nicky Richards stable after being purchased in May 2004.
It is hoped that the winning ways will continue, as Direct Access will have another couple of runs in the New Year. Here's wishing the syndicate every success with their newfound champion.
No doubt Oliver, who has been a well-known commentator on the northern racing circuit for many years, gave a rousing commentary when his own runner was "doing the business".
