Prunty Peat rep Aidan Duffy has been back out on the road of late – scooting down the many lanes and byways across the territory. His van managed to sustain a dinge while out and about, and was subsequently laid up for repairs.
Making his rounds in his own car, Aidan was missing the use of the hands-free mobile-kit that the van comes equipped with. Temptation got the better of him and he made a phone call on his mobile while driving through Armagh city.
Whoops! Unfortunately he was swooped upon by über-vigilant PSNI officers and summarily presented with a £30 fine.
As this column warned, about a year ago, it has become a case of phoner beware. Mobile telecom companies rip us off enough, without having to pay fines on top of that.
Aidan will be hands-freeing it from here on, no doubt. Good to see him out on the road again.
