The Madonna gig at Slane in the summer was expected to be the focal point of fun for many revellers this year.
The weather and Madge herself conspired to dampen the estival festival fun. Sylvan had a few representatives at the concert, including recent returnee Eilish McConville and resident live wire Aishling Monaghan.
Although the two fans were at the gig separately, both concluded that Ha-Malkah Esther (as Madonna now calls herself) was a bit of a let down. The diamond-studded bodices have gone and the new outfit is a demur kilt. Costume changes are out in Esther's new world of Kabbalah as are the erotically charged yogic postures.
The material girl has gone spiritual and the fans were not best pleased.
To sum it up the consensus opinion of the concert was a five letter word which sounds like trite!
