The Irish Times published their yearly listing of the Top 1000 companies in Ireland in May.
The magazine is produced in association with the weirdly named BearingPoint.
Monaghan, Walsh and Carbury all rate among the top 1000.
Monaghan Mushrooms enter the fray at position 243; Walsh Mushrooms Group,www.walshmushrooms.com, is ranked at 412; and Carbury Mushrooms, www.carburypark.ie, come in at 669.
Stalker must admit that the company at 666 must be feeling a bit peculiar – if they believe in all that numerology hocus-pocus bunkum.
Connacht Gold Co-Op, www.connachtgold.ie , who have a stake in the ongoing merger deal between Carbury and Monaghan are ranked at number 127; and Donegal Creameries, www.donegal-creameries.ie, another player in the world of mushrooms slips in 100 or so places later at position 229.
The Irish Times Top 1000 companies is available online at www.ireland.com/business for those who missed the real world edition.
There's plenty to peruse in the listings. It's always interesting to see the way company's are moving in the rankings from year to year.
One other wee point of interest is that most companies listed have presences on the web – one of the notable exceptions being Monaghan Mushrooms.
