Stalker spotted this soupçon of mushroom related minutiae on a travel review website:
Even less likely was our meeting with a Czech composer named Václav Hálek, who has written 1,650 compositions, inspired by 1,650 types of mushrooms. The meeting, during which Hálek performed his mushroom music on the piano, was set up by our guide, a music and art historian named Milos Curik. In the days ahead, Curik would stretch the music and food theme further, informing us that Smetana's father was a brewmaster; that Czech composer Leos Janácek's father was a bartender; and that Dvorák, who played the violin as a boy at his father's pub, was "baptized in beer."
Mushroom music to soothe the soul - surely this stuff should be piped through mushroom houses across Europe, to inspire pickers! Perhaps though that might just cause a picker rebellion.
