M&S appoint Irish based Monaghan Ltd to supply new veggie ball and veggie mince that will expand their existing Plant Kitchen range.
As a leading retailer M&S food is known for its quality, freshness and innovation. They make every effort to sell sustainably sourced products that maintain the magic of M&S whilst at the same time modernising supply chains and the way they sell to customers.
The collaboration began in Dec 2020 introducing the M&S team to Monaghan’s meat-free production capabilities. M&S Food will benefit from Monaghan’s state-of-the-art purpose built facility and team of over 50 food specialists with one common goal – to harness the power of nature for consumers’ health and wellbeing.
The original vegan product was developed by the innovation arm of Monaghan Mushrooms. Working together they created new recipes and techniques to create the perfect Plant Kitchen veggie ball focusing on flavour, texture and ingredients.
The new product is an aim of creating “powerful, natural superfood ingredients that help people live healthier lives.” With increased demand for sustainable plant based meals, M&S are a head of the game with their new product launch. Fresh vegetables have seen a notable rise in sales, up 11.5% and mushrooms were one of the best performing top sectors. This being their focused approach for more mushroom based products.
