The Ecowash system is a flexible, mid-range waste water treatment system designed with industrial customers in mind. The Eco-Wash system offers a custom treatment process without the expenditure of a large treatment plant.
The Eco-Wash system incorporates screening technology alongside chemical dosing, flocculation, settling and filtration processes.
Added to this is the potential for custom microbiological adaptations to meet customer needs through an ongoing research partnership with Queens University, Belfast. Through this research partnership and our specialist knowledge we can offer site consultancy and lab testing on
your waste water allowing us to address your waste water needs in a seamless manner.
Screening
Fully customisable screening technology is designed and constructed in-house to meet the needs of customer waste water. Current standard screens at DMAC Environmental block particles down to 200 microns in diameter allowing fine filtration to be further performed within the Eco-
Wash unit without the constant need to change/ clean filters thus reducing maintenance levels.
The strengthened nylon mesh rests upon a folded metal support and resists blocking allowing the solid particulates to slide down the screen reducing the need for frequent washing.
The nylon mesh is custom made and a range of apertures are available depending on customer requirements.
Flocculation and Settling
Dosing pumps matched to customer flow rates are used to add floccing agents such as Ferric Sulphate, Polyaluminium Chloride or polymers such as polyDADMAC o the waste water. Once added the flocs are allowed to settle out or are passed over a fine mesh and sieved out depending on the customer needs in terms of treatment time.
This process allows dissolved solids to be removed out of waste water meaning components such as colour and ultimately BOD/COD levels can be reduced to acceptable target standards.
End Results
Typically we see good reductions in all parameters required by the time the waste water leaves the Eco-Wash system. BOD and COD levels are reduced through a combination of screening, filtration and microbial led processes. Levels of ammonium, nitrate and phosphorous can also be reduced depending on customer needs through those processes mentioned above as well as specific chemical processes-such as precipitation for example- which can be carried out within the Eco-Wash system or further details on the system take a look at our website:- www.dmacenvironmental.com
